Javier Noriega
CEO & Founder of CMMA
Javier Noriega Hernández is founder and president of the Andalusian Maritime-Marine Cluster (CMMA), an association of innovative, sustainable, and technological companies working in one of the different subsectors of the Blue Economy. He is also president of the Blue Economy and Ports Commission of the Andalusian Confederation of Entrepreneurs (CEA), member of the Board of Directors of the Confederation of Entrepreneurs of Malaga (CEM) and member of the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Navigation of Malaga.
He was president of the Young Entrepreneurs Association (AJE) of Malaga and also founded and is CEO of Grupo ARATHEA S.L., specializing in underwater archaeology, a company with which he has won important awards such as Spin Off Company University of Malaga in 2003, the Entrepreneur and Young Entrepreneur Award in 2005-2007, the Socially Responsible Company Award of the European Union (2009) and the award for Technology Based EBT Company ANCES (Ministry of Industry of the Government of Spain).
He holds a degree in History from the University of Malaga, is an archaeologist and an experienced diver, as well as a transfer expert. He has published numerous scientific or informative articles in academic or journalistic publications, as well as giving talks and conferences on underwater archaeology, heritage, entrepreneurship, or knowledge transfer, among other fields.
He is driven by one main idea: that society should turn its gaze to the sea.
