Adolfo Borrero

CEO of Aalto Consultores, a company specialized in Strategic Consulting for the Planning and Development of Smart cities and territories, with special dedication to Smart Tourism Destinations and smart energy solutions.

Founding partner and president of the first pure Energy Services Company in Andalusia, Cactus Energy Services. He is president of the Smartcities commission of AMETIC since its creation in 2012. He has developed his extensive career in the Information and Communications Technology sector since 1984, in which his activity in TELVENT stands out, over more than 26 years, occupying different management positions, with a very relevant international component, including the successful IPO in the American NASDAQ.

The business areas in which he has developed his career range from the Defense sector to the Energy sector, including Mobility, Environment, eHealth and eGovernment, with outstanding activity in the field of Smart Cities, during the last 15 years. He has been founder and advisor of the first technology startup accelerator in Andalusia, BOLT Accelerator, which had 110 international mentors, from Silicon Valley (USA) and Northern European countries.

He has been president of the Andalusian Digital Economy Cluster, ETICOM, from 2009 to 2012, where he put into operation the first Smartcities Commission in Spain, the National Cloud Computing Center, the Microsoft and Vodafone Clouding Point, the Smartcities FIware Nodes in Malaga and Seville and the Angel Jordan Center for CMMI.

He currently collaborates intensively with the Smart City Cluster based in Malaga. He actively collaborates with national associations, belonging to the boards of AMETIC (Multisectorial Association of Electronics, ICT, Telecommunications and Content Companies) and ANESE (National Association of Energy Services Companies).

In Andalusia, he is a collaborator of the Chamber of Commerce of Seville and Patron of Málaga Valley since its foundation. Member of the Digital Society and Tourism commissions of CEOE and president of the Digital Agenda commission of CEA.

He was the creator of the Sevillian ICT & Sustainability Forum in June 2008. He is founder and member of the organizing committees of Greencities (2010), on smart cities, and Transfiere (2012), on technology transfer, both in Malaga (Andalusia).

He regularly participates in technology-related forums such as the Smart City Expo (Barcelona Catalonia) or the Digital Enterprise Show (Malaga-Andalusia). He creates in 2018 the Digital Tourist Forum in Benidorm (Valencia) with AMETIC, which is a member of the National Network of Smart Tourist Destinations (RDTI) and promotes in 2020 the International Congress of Seville Tourism Innovation Summit (TIS) together with Nebext in FIBES (Seville). He has directed the congress of Innovation in Inland Tourism "Iberttur" in Plasencia (Extremadura) between smart tourist destinations in Spain and Portugal. And finally, he is "Senior Advisor" of the Blue Economy and Tourism congress "Sun&Blue" to be held in Almeria (Andalusia) in November 2024.
